For those who don't already know, The Stone is a "not-for-profit performance space dedicated to the experimental and avant-garde" in New York City. John Zorn is the artistic director, so you know there are some good things happening there.  As an example, check out this improv set from Thurston Moore and some other NYC downtown jazzers.

Somehow, I just heard about this! The Jesus Lizard would probably refute it, but they have some serious art rock tendencies...odd time signatures, lunatic frontman, and the always inventive guitar playing of Duane Denison! Imagine Led Zeppelin having sex with The Birthday Party and Captain Beefheart...
